Library Services

Information Literacy

Aimed at hands-on tutelage of users on how to locate, navigate, evaluate, and use the Library resources effectively to meet their information and research needs. This is done via the initial Library Information sessions at the onset of orientation for each new LIBRARY USER class, weekly execution of Library Happy Hours (LHH), which holds every Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 1-2 p.m and 3.30-4.30p.m, excluding the last Mondays of every month.

Indexes to Journals

The Library, as part of its specialized services to its users, provides indexed to local journals which have not been indexed elsewhere. This is aimed at discovery and provision of local content to research activities of the user community.

bloomberg pixBloomberg Terminals

Twelve (12) Bloomberg terminals (Bloomberg Professional Service) to enable professionals track and analyse financial news across the globe. This resource is geared towards large, institutional investors, and facilitates communication, information and trades among institutions.

Computer Laboratory

Equipped with laptops in its Computer Lab (LCL) for access to electronic resources as well as a virtual classroom for group trainings & workshops. The LCL is fully air-conditioned with free high speed internet connectivity (Wi-fi), projector, webcam and CDROM facilities.


Photocopying

The library provides photocopying services that enables the library users to make copies of library materials in accordance with the copyright laws applicable to the photocopying of library materials.

Audio-Visual
The Library provides audio and visual resources for its users such as Compact disc, tapes, DVDs etc. to support teaching, research and learning.

Wi-Fi-Access
The LBS library provides a pass worded Wi-Fi access to its user community within the Library for their use of the Computer Lab or their Personal Computers. For queries related to the LBS Wi-Fi access, please send an email to: library@lbs.edu.ng.

Borrowing & Interlibrary Loan
  • Loans

    Library materials are issued at the lending section of the library.

  • Overdue items

    Clients will be notified of overdue items by e-mail. A fine is charged for overdue items.

  • Returns

    Material should be returned during library operating hours at the circulation desk of the library.

  • Renewals

    Library material may be renewed once unless requested by another client. Once the renewal limit has been reached the material must be returned to the library.

    Clients may renew the books in their custody online. Go to Renew Books at the top of the library website. Renewals may also be done at the circulation desk of the library, as well as by phone: call +234  802-501-4624) or e-mail​ : library@lbs.edu.ng .

  • Book Reservations

    Library material currently on loan may be requested online via the library catalogue page. For instructions go to How do I reserve a book currently on loan?

    Library material may also be reserved at the lending sections of the respective branch libraries.

  • Borrowing

    Faculties will be limited to 10 books per time of borrowing. Books may only be reserved for a specific course programme and only for the duration of the programme. Material may not be reserved permanently or for longer than 12 months.
    Student will be limited to 4 books per time of borrowing
