Participants Endorse MPSA Programme

Managing People for Strategic Advantage

Participants in Lagos Business School’s Managing People for Strategic Advantage (MPSA) programme had upbeat experiences to share during a farewell organised to cocktail to mark its conclusion yesterday.

A total of 60 persons drawn from a broad spectrum of the nation’s economy participated in the two-day programme, designed to build line managers’ human resource management capabilities.
The faculty on the programme drew on cutting-edge research from the fields of strategy, business psychology, organisational behaviour and human resources to provide practical solutions to the challenges faced by participants.
Jude Chukwuma, chief technical officer, Interconnect Clearinghouse Nigeria Limited, said the programme has increased his managerial capabilities, equipping him with the skills to manage his team for better efficiency, productivity and harmony.
“The programme has gone beyond my expectations and opened my eyes to managerial gaps I can plug,” he said.
“I joined this programme because at a level like this, we deal more with people than material resources,” disclosed Bob Omoaholo, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, the Freedom Group. “The programme met my expectations, and my knowledge base in terms of people management has increased.”
Dr Ifedapo Adeleye, one of the facilitators of the programme, had similar words to share about participants. “We had a diverse class and they brought a lot of experience to bear on the programme. We also learnt a lot from them because they were all at different stages in terms of implementing people management strategies,” he said.
