OMP 18 Wins Business Strategy Game

Participants in Lagos Business School’s Owner Managers Programme (OMP 18) have come tops in the Business Strategy Games (BSG) worldwide.

This is the second time a team from LBS will be winning the virtual game, in which participants are assigned to run an athletic footwear company and compete against companies managed by other class members.  The teams craft and execute a competitive strategy for their respective firms, aimed at producing good financial performance in Earnings Per Share, Return on Investment, Stock Price Appreciation and Credit Rating.

OMP 18 participants in the HIKE team (Team H) earned a Global Top 100 ranking with an overall score of 110.0 – tied for the best Overall Score performance of the week, worldwide.

“Congratulations are in order for students in your class who earned a Global Top 100 ranking for their company’s BSG performance during the week of 2 June through 8 June, 2014. This performance reflects quite well on…the calibre of instruction that students are receiving in your course,” said the BSG Author Team comprising Art Thompson, Greg Stappenbeck and Mark Reidenbach.

Nkemdilim Iheanachor, instructor of LBS participants in the game, said: “This performance of the HIKE Team in the OMP 18 Class reflects their ability to draw together the… lessons of prior courses in the OMP Programme at LBS. It consolidates their knowledge about the different aspects of running a company, and a deep understanding of revenue-cost-profit relationships in organisations.”

Every Monday, the BSG Author Team compiles lists of the prior week’s best-performing companies worldwide based on Overall Score (current year), Earnings Per Share, Return On Average Equity and Stock Price.
