LBS faculty and strategy expert, Dr Chris Ogbechie, recently facilitated the first Nestle Stakeholder Convening for Central and West Africa in Accra, Ghana.
Following Nestle’s efforts to empower smallholder farmers in central and West Africa with agricultural and technical expertise, the conference was aimed at discussing and obtaining feedback on the company’s ‘Creating Shared Value’ initiatives in the sub region.
Ogbechie, who moderated the conference, highlighted the challenges and opportunities faced by Central and West Africa in nutrition and rural development, including the changing expectations of business and civil society in both regions.
The LBS strategy guru has also been boosting his board management and leadership skills elsewhere on the continent. Of recent, he was in Lusaka, Zambia for the African Management Services Company’s (AMSCO) ‘Board Leadership Seminar’. The programme was designed to equip current board members and executive directors with the tools to operate as effective leaders and boost board, company and personal performance.
AMSCO is a special-purpose company set up by the United Nations Development Programme and the International Finance Corporation to serve as the operational unit of the UNDP’s African Training and Management Services Project.
