MBA Students Participate in Advertising Contest

The MBA advertising contest, an annual event for LBS MBA first year participants held on Thursday, February 2, 2017. The contest was launched in 2014 as part of the Introduction to Marketing Management course.

Judged by marketing communication experts: Shola Adegborioye, Executive Director, Creative Xone,  and Yetude Adesina, Executive Director, Primagarnet. The students were divided into various groups and each group created a television advert to promote one of three products; five star hotel, plantain chips and commercial bank.

Two groups, group 3 (Adaeze Mba, Bukola Ariyo,  Daniel Udo, Olugbenga Sonaike, Taibat, Dayo) and group 4 (Emeka Ezechukwu, Akinola Owolabi,  Olubukola Oyegbola, Omolola Ogundipe, Nnenna Ogoke, Ilerioluwa Akinkugbe) emerged winners of the contest as they displayed enticing strategies that will help trigger the purchase decisions of  “chow chips” and “chippy chipps”  plantain chips respectively.

Speaking on the performance of the students Shola Adegborioye, Executive Director, Creative Xone, stated that he was extremely impressed. “This is my third year of accessing this, for most of the students none of them have done advertising before, for them to have come out with these kind of ideas and production is extremely impressive” he said.

Yetunde Adesina, Executive Director, Primagarnet also commended the students for a job well done. “The students did a very good job, I saw a lot of passion. A lot of good thinking went into it before they executed. They tried as much as possible to bring in some production values, the quality of the pictures, editing and packaging were excellent” she said.
