LBSAA Northern Zonal Dinner, Holds in Abuja

The 8th zonal dinner cum alumni session for the northern zone of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association held on Thursday, July 21 in Abuja. It was an exciting evening filled with lots of laughter, networking and entertainment for alumni living in the Northern region of Nigeria.

The event which was held at the Benue/Plateau Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja was well attended with over 30 members of alumni, their spouses and other special invited guests. It kicked off at 7pm with a cocktail, and proceeded to the dinner which was the main event.

Notable persons at the dinner were: LBSAA President, represented by Nze Chidi Duru, Abuja Zonal President, the Dean of LBS, represented by, Ms Bunmi Afolabi,  Director, Alumni Relations, and Mr Ben Akabueze, Director General, Budget Office of the Federation.

Nze Chidi Duru, Abuja Zonal President and Ms Bunmi Afolabi,  Director, Alumni Relations each gave a welcome  speech to members of  alumni. Mr Ben Akabueze, Director General, Budget Office of the Federation proceeded to deliver a dinner lecture titled: Emerging Opportunities in the Nigerian Economy. The lecture was centered on the numerous business opportunities in the agricultural sector of Nigeria.  He encouraged members to key into the current diversification scheme of the Federal government by investing in both the production and processing areas of agriculture.

The event progressed to an award ceremony where an award of recognition was presented to Mrs Omotayo Itseumah, an alumna of EMBA 3. She was awarded for her efforts in pioneering the establishment of the LBSAA Northern Zone.  Mrs Omotayo Itseumah is the managing director of Retro Prints and Publishing Nigeria Limited, Abuja, she also has two decades of professional experience in the banking industry.

An exciting highlight of the evening was the raffle draw,  which allowed members of alumni the opportunity to win wonderful prizes.   Three winners emerged from the raffle draw:  Mr Ugochukwu Duru won the prize for a one weekend stay at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, while Mr John Oyidih and Miss Ifeanyi Arah won two air tickets for domestic flights offered by Arik Air.
