LBS Welcomes SMP 63

The 63rd edition of the Senior Management Programme, SMP 63, commenced at the School on Monday, March 6, 2017. The class comprises of 30 professionals from different sectors of the Nigerian economy including financial services, oil and gas, real estate, and ICT, coming from within and outside Lagos.

Participants were given a guided tour of the School’s facilities upon their arrival before settling in for the classroom sessions for the day.

Speaking at the welcome cocktail, participants expressed high expectations of the programme. Bimpe Oloyede, Head, Project Management, Insight Publicis, hopes the programme will enable her harness her leadership skills. “I was just moved into the head of a function, I am looking at harnessing all of the knowledge and case studies that reveal real life situations in order to have an effective leadership.” she said.

Ola Daramola, Business Developer, A2WLimited, hopes that the knowledge gleaned from the programme will enable him add value to his organisation. “I want to be able to add value to my organisation. I am hopeful that the programme will prepare me for more opportunities in the future.”

The SMP is an executive programme designed for functional managers, regional managers as well as unit heads with seven or more years of work experience, and managing a team.  The main aim of the programme is to increase the effectiveness of executives, for instance through improving their strategic thinking capabilities.  The SMP builds the personal skills of participants in order to enable them achieve an immediate and measurable improvement in their contribution to their organisations. The programme usually rounds off with a capstone project and class presentation which is aimed to showcase all the participants have learnt.
