LBS to Host 2017 Africa Business Conference

Lagos Business School (LBS) will be hosting the fifth edition of the Africa Business Conference, on Friday, March 3, 2017.

The Africa Business Conference is an annual forum of business leaders, investors and professionals from across Africa.  The purpose of the conference is to generate critical insights LBS to Host 2017 Africa Business Conference for African businesses and to raise calls to action for industry stakeholders.

The conference themed Rethink Africa: Radical Business Models for Volatile Economies” will be aimed at challenging the business patterns that have shaped the business and economic landscape in Africa.  The conference will also seek solutions and answers to disruptive thought processes and untested methods in business.

The conference will feature practical keynote addresses, interactive panel sessions, professional networking opportunities and much more. Speakers expected at the event include:  Andrew Alli, President and Chief Executive Officer of Africa Finance Corporation; and Yaw Nsarkoh, Executive Vice President of Unilever Ghana-Nigeria.

The panels which will be available  at the event and the various themes to be discussed include: Corporate Finance: Hedging Financial Risks and Exposures in Uncertainty; Agriculture: Sustainable Wealth Creation in Agribusiness; SMEs and Entrepreneurship: Rethinking Competitive Advantage for SMEs; TechnologyThe Rising Digital Economy: Business Implications and Opportunities; Creative and Media: Unlocking Latent Value in The Creative and Media Industry; Manufacturing and Distribution:  Effective Strategies for Distribution in an Emerging Economy.

The panelists are CEOs from leading organisations including Google Nigeria, Jumia Nigeria, Verod Capital, Okomu Oil Palm Company, Vitafoam, iRoko TV, and She Leads Africa amongst others.

Previous keynote speakers in past editions include: Aliko Dangote, CEO, Dangote Group of Companies; Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and Founder, Tony Elumelu Foundation; Ibukun Awosika; Chairman, Board of Directors, First Bank of Nigeria Limited; Rakesh Wahi, Co-founder of CNBC Africa, Forbes Africa, Murdoch University Dubai and Prof Chinedu Nebo, former Minister of Energy.
