LBS’ Owner Manager Programme commences amidst high expectations

A fresh set of participants have resumed for the 26th edition of Lagos Business School’s Owner Manager Programme (OMP) that commenced on Monday, 5 March 2018. The almost 30 participants attending this year’s programme are a fine blend of managers from diverse sectors of the economy including media, oil and gas, hospitality, legal and health.

LBS’ Owner Manager Programme is suited to the needs of managers who seek to identify new business opportunities and aim to build sustainable businesses that can boldly compete on a world stage.

This edition of the OMP promises a unique learning experience for participants as the programme has now been fully integrated into the e-learning platform. Director of Executive Education at LBS, Mr Ifeanyi Obiora-Okafo also noted that in the fifth month of the programme, participants would go on a foreign trip that will allow them to take a module in the Owner Manager Programme at Strathmore Business School in Kenya.

One of the participants, Dr Akeem Anifowoshe, a medical doctor and lipo surgeon who recently moved to Nigeria to set up an outpatient medical centre in Lagos said his urgent need for a structured environment to learn in led him to LBS’ OMP. He said, “I chose Lagos Business School because it would give me an advantage over Harvard and London Business Schools; it understands the Nigerian factor that I need after living abroad for 26 years. I’ve been impressed beyond my expectations since the classes started”.

Another participant, Mr Oladipupo Lahanmi, an architect who is into design, project management and building construction, said he lacked specific skills necessary to move his business to the next level, hence his decision to join the programme. On his expectations, Mr Lahanmi expresses hopes of gaining the requisite knowledge and skills to advance his business and also meeting and networking with other professionals within and outside his industry.

The Owner Manager Programme is scheduled to run through the course of six months and will be delivered in six modules for five days per month.
