Lagos Business School earns Prestigious AABS Accreditation, Reiterates Commitment to Africa’s Growth

Lagos Business School (LBS) has become one of only seven business schools accredited by the Association of African Business Schools (AABS). As the foremost accreditation body for business schools in Africa, the AABS accreditation recognizes business schools that demonstrate a dedication to delivering high-quality, world-class management education that is tailored to the African context.

According to the official AABS announcement, which was made public this month, this recognition highlights an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality education and tireless efforts to uphold excellence for our students and the African community.

This accreditation underscores LBS’s dedication to developing responsible leaders to inspire growth in Africa. It complements the school’s prior accreditations, such as the Association of MBAs (AMBA), which positions it among the top 2% of business schools in 70 countries with this endorsement. LBS is also the first institution in West Africa to receive accreditation and recognition by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Professor Chris Ogbechie, Dean, LBS, highlighted the significance of the AABS accreditation to the school’s vision. “The recognition from AABS is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty, students, staff, and stakeholders, who have contributed to our growth and success. It reflects our commitment to delivering excellence in business education and positively impacting Africa.”

The accreditation process entailed a rigorous evaluation of the school’s curricula, faculty, resources, the impact of the school on society, and its capacity to enhance the standard of business education in Africa.

Lagos Business School stands out as Africa’s premier, world-class management education provider. Dedicated to developing responsible leaders to inspire Africa’s growth, the school offers a variety of degrees and executive education programmes, equipping students and participants with the competencies to excel in an ever-evolving global business landscape.
