LBS, MTN, Jumia Partner for Entrepreneurship Challenge

The MTN Entrepreneurship Challenge powered by Jumia will hold today at Lagos Business School. The innovative competition, run by the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town and Africa Internet Group, spans across 13 African countries (Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe).

The competition is currently in its 2nd phase and the contestants, in Nigeria, will be pitching their business ideas to a panel of judges. Dr Henrietta Onwugbuzie, LBS Faculty, Academic Director of the Owner Manager Programme and Impact Investing Project Director will be a member of the judging panel.

At the next phase, the Selection Committee will choose 3 finalists across Africa and these finalists will fly to Cape Town for the Entrepreneurship Festival to pitch their businesses to an audience of International investors and successful business people.

The winner will receive $25,000 cash + $15,000 from Facebook Start programme to build a Mobile Application + Mentorship for one year. Each runner up will win $5,000.
