new appointments

Lagos Business School has appointed Dr Uchenna Uzo its new MBA Director. He takes over from Dr Nubi Achebo, who is now the School’s Director for Instructional Design and Technology.

Dr Uzo, whose specialties are Sales, Retail and Channel Marketing Management, joined LBS in February, 2002. He received his BSc. and MSc. in Sociology from the University of Lagos, and his Masters of Research/PhD in Management from the IESE Business School, Barcelona.  His consulting assignments span the creative industry, FMCG and consumer retail sectors.

“For me, the appointment is an avenue to take the MBA programme to greater heights. Our plan is to internationalise the programme while ensuring that it retains the home-grown touch associated with LBS,” he said.

On his part, Dr Achebo will provide instructional design expertise for custom programmes in Executive Education and also facilitate the innovative use of instructional technologies for teaching and learning.

He will direct and manage the custom training product development process, which includes consultation, short and long-term product planning, as well as execution of content development schedules and budgets.

“My goal is to ensure our faculty and facilities are at the cutting edge of technologies used in business schools worldwide,” explained Nubi.

Dr. Achebo holds a PhD in Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois.  His background includes stints as Assistant Professor at Iowa State University; Director of Instructional Technology, Saintt Xavier University, and consultancy positions with Arthur Andersen and Adam Smith International, among   several other renowned companies
