Lagos Business School flagged off the 53rd edition of the Senior Management Programme (SMP 53) yesterday with 67 participants.

The class – comprising professionals from banking, insurance, microfinance as well as oil and gas – was officially welcomed by Dr Enase Okonedo, Dean of LBS. This was followed by an introductory session with the Director of Executive Education, Henry Andoh, and a guided tour of the School’s facilities.

After their first few classes, participants were treated to a lively cocktail reception, where they expressed optimism that the programme would meet and even surpass their expectations.

“I’ve always had high expectations of LBS because of the people associated with the School. So I’m positive that whenever I come here, whatever I get will be of good quality,” said Abayomi Shomu, Head, Acceptance and Acquirer Management, Interswitch.

Captain James Daniel, base manager at Bristow Helicopters, explained that his position demanded a good knowledge of business and finance, which was why his company opted for LBS.

“Participation is impressive and the class very vibrant,” said Alex Ererobe, coordinator of the programme. “Simply put, SMP 53 will be fantastic.”

The SMP is a 4-month executive programme which builds the personal skills of participants to enable them achieve an immediate and measurable improvement in their contribution to their organisations.
