LBS chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma society holds second recognition ceremony

On Saturday, April 27, the Lagos Business School chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Society inducted new members in its second recognition ceremony held on the School campus.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the exclusive business honour society for students enrolled in business and management programmes accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

At the ceremony, 25 members of LBS alumni across MBA programmes, three faculty members including Prof Olayinka David-West, Dr Henrietta Onwuegbuzie and Uchora Udoji, and one campus advisor, Jacinta Anakua were inducted into the Society by LBS Dean and Installation Officer, Prof Enase Okonedo.

The recognition ceremony also saw the emergence of Executive MBA 23 participant, Oghogho Osula emerge as student president of the LBS chapter of the Society taking over from Glory Enyinnaya who is the pioneer president of the chapter. Other newly elected student officers include Edith Agu, Chidinma Akaniro, Adejumoke Awolumate, and Njum Onyemenam.

In less than nine months of being a chapter, LBS BGS was selected along with 115 collegiate chapters to receive the Beta Gamma Sigma High Honours roll award out of over 540 collegiate chapters in business schools accredited by AACSB International.

Election to lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest honour a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master’s programme at a school accredited by AACSB International.

The LBS BGS chapter was established in November 2017.
