Lagos Business School is pleased to announce that one of its alumni, Polycarp Didam, Advanced Management Programme (AMP22) was recently appointed by the National Insurance Commission as the Managing Director/CEO of UnityKapital Assurance Plc.
Didam holds a Diploma in Insurance from Ahmadu Bello University, a Higher Diploma in Business Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and an MBA in General Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.
He is a seasoned insurance professional with more than two decades of insurance practice underwriting, insurance broking and marketing. He has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Fin Insurance Company Limited since October 2016. His professional career started in 1988 at Commercial Insurance Brokers in Kano/Kaduna. Didam was Regional Manager of Afribank Insurance Brokers, North East from 1990 to 1993. He became an Assistant Director with Industrial General Insurance in 2001. He moved to Guaranty Trust Assurance Plc., now AXA Mansard Insurance as Regional Manager, North and later became Group Lead, Public Sector/CBN. He left as an Assistant General Manager in 2013 to take the appointment as MD/CEO of Guinea Insurance Plc. A position he held before joining Fin Insurance Co. Ltd, a member of the Cornerstone Group in May 2016.
Didam is also a member of numerous esteemed professional bodies. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN); a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, (MNIM); the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (MNIMN); and the Institute of Directors (IOD).
