Lagos Business School is happy to announce that one of its alumni, Mrs Funmi Babington-Ashaye, Senior Managers Programme (SMP 6) was recently elected to assume the leadership of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
Babington-Ashaye is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers Ltd. She attended Lagos State Polytechnic and emerged as the best graduating Higher National Diploma (HND) student in Insurance Department in 1987. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) which she obtained in 1995.
Babington-Ashaye is a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and United Kingdom and a council member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria. She was the former President of Entrepreneurs Organisation, Lagos Chapter (an international organisation of entrepreneurs with headquarters in Virginia USA).
She has served on many committees, including Audit and General Purposes Committee, Activities Committee, Strategy Advisory Committee, Education Committee and Chairman Organizing Committee of the Inaugural Insurance Industry Mega Conference.
Babington- Ashaye is presently the Chairman, College of Insurance and Financial studies and currently sits on the Board of Pearl Awards Limited.
