Lagos Business School Faculty, Chris Ogbechie joins CIBNFCS board

Lagos Business School (LBS) Faculty, Professor Chris Ogbechie has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Centre for Financial Studies (CIBNCFS), a subsidiary of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

The Centre for Financial Studies was birthed out of the need to offer research-based thought leadership for c-suite executives in the banking and finance industry. The Centre aims to collaborate with other institutions to upgrade the skills of banking and finance practitioners.

Ogbechie, a Professor of Strategic Management at LBS, is also the President of the Governing Council of Bank Directors Association of Nigeria (BDAN) and was, until recently, the Chairman, Board of Directors at Diamond Bank Plc.

He is a visiting professor at Strathmore Business School, Kenya and the founding Director of LBS Sustainability Centre. In January 2018, Ogbechie was appointed as a member of the Federal Government Technical Committee for the review of the suspended National Codes of Corporate Governance by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC).

The eight-person Board includes other professionals in the industry including the former Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson, Mallam Lamido Yuguda, Professor Olakunle Odumosu, Mr Seye Awojobi, Dr Tope Oshikoya, Mr Emeka Emuwa with Dr Okwu Joseph Nnanna as Chairman.
