Overview

For a long time, the HR function had to struggle to get a seat in the boardroom of their organisations. Today, the issue is different. Now that the HR function has a seat, the question is “What does HR bring into the room and what should HR bring”? Related to these are questions around how HR could more effectively demonstrate the huge value it makes and can make to deliver today’s result and perpetually secure the success of the business in a rapidly changing world. The climate within the organisation is a major source of performance erosion. Winning the strategic internal war that this performance erosion poses is as crucial as winning the external competitive battles that confront the organisation.

A key purpose of the Human Capital function of an organisation is to strengthen the effectiveness of its people so that they become a source of sustainable competitive advantage.

This will entail amongst others the capacity to:

  1. Ensure sustainable talent supply for now and the future,
  2. Ensure an atmosphere that optimises individual and organisation performance
  3. Do these in an environment that is rapidly changing, fiercely competitive and demanding demonstrable evidence of value creation in every part of the organisation.

This workshop is designed to create an avenue for continuously refreshing capability in these areas given the rate of evolution of the dynamic variables that shape the context of organisations. This is crucial in ensuring alignment of internal translation of their strategic imperatives and culture. That way, they are able to better leverage the dynamic variables in this internal war against effective translation of strategic intent into outcomes. They also ensure that investments in Human Capital are effectively complementing the other crucial competitive endeavors in areas such as brand management and marketing, sales, supply chain, cost optimization, etc. What’s more? Your HR function can do this in a way that is clearly demonstrable in Return on Investment that shows in the bottom-line.

  • Participants will expand their knowledge of emerging global challenges and their impact on their businesses in an evolving socio-economic as well as political and regulatory environment. They will also understand the demands these are placing on their respective businesses
  • Their understanding of how these changes are shaping the context of their businesses will be deepened
  • They will evaluate and learn new approaches to drive the effectiveness of people as sources of sustainable competitive advantage
  • Their leadership and influencing skills as well as decision-making and change management skills are refreshed in the light of new global practices
  • They will take away ideas, specific tools and frameworks that they can implement immediately to strengthen the impact of the HR function and demonstrate the huge value it is making and can make to deliver today’s result and perpetually secure the success of the business in a rapidly changing world.
