What a day! The Lagos Business School (LBS) Culture Day 2025, held on Monday, November 24, was a resounding success, reaffirming the vibrant and supportive organisational culture that makes LBS a truly special place to learn and work. It was a day of reflection, celebration, and recommitment to the values that define our community. Held annually, the LBS Culture Day serves as a vital reminder to embrace and uphold the core values of Community, Respect, Integrity, Service and Professionalism that define our professional community.
A Warm Welcome Focused on Values
The event kicked off with a welcome address delivered by the Faculty Director, Professor Uchenna Uzo. Professor Uzo set an inspiring tone for the day, highlighting the crucial role our shared culture plays in driving LBS’s mission and success.
Following this, we were privileged to hear from the esteemed Dr Solomon Avbioroko, who delivered a truly captivating keynote address. Dr Avbioroko took us on a journey through his years of service at LBS, sharing personal stories and insights into how a robust culture of respect and dignity has been actively nurtured and sustained here. His message resonated deeply, reminding us that our collective respect for one another is the bedrock of the LBS environment.
Passing the Torch: New Culture Leadership
A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of the new Culture Committee and Culture Champions. This symbolic transition marks the next chapter in stewarding our workplace culture. We extend our immense gratitude to the outgoing committee, who stepped down after a year of meritorious service. Their dedication and effort have ensured our cultural values remain strong and celebrated!
The new committee members and champions are energised and ready to take the reins, promising another year full of positive reinforcement and engagement.
Food, Fun and Festivities!
No LBS celebration is complete without some fun! The formal proceedings gave way to a spectacular reception that truly embodied our lively spirit. The LBS staff community was treated to a delightful buffet that fueled the fun.
The atmosphere was electric, featuring engaging games, music, singing and dancing! It was wonderful to see colleagues from all departments letting loose and enjoying the camaraderie. It is moments like these that perfectly showcase the balance of excellence and community we strive for at LBS.
