Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University (LBS), on Saturday, July 4, 2026, graduated 304 executives from five of its flagship executive education programmes, marking another milestone in its mission to develop responsible leaders for Africa and the world.
The graduands completed the Owner-Manager Programme (OMP), Senior Management Programme (SMP), Human Resource Academy (HRA), Management Acceleration Programme (MAP), and Agribusiness Management Programme (AgMP).
Held at the Honeywell Auditorium on the LBS campus, the ceremony brought together the graduands, their families, faculty, alumni, and members of the university community to celebrate the successful completion of months of rigorous learning, reflection, and professional development.
The programmes combined intensive classroom sessions, peer-to-peer learning, faculty engagement, and case studies designed to equip participants to lead effectively in increasingly complex and dynamic business environments. Some programmes, including the Owner-Manager Programme, also featured international modules that provided opportunities for global exposure, knowledge exchange, and cross-cultural learning, further reinforcing the School’s commitment to further reinforcing the School’s commitment to developing leaders with deep local insight and a global perspective
In her welcome remarks, the Dean of LBS, Professor Olayinka David-West, congratulated the graduands and encouraged them to embrace leadership as a responsibility rooted in integrity and service.
“Leadership is not defined by position; it is defined by responsibility, integrity, and impact,” she said, urging participants to invest in developing others and to use their influence for positive change.
Professor David-West also highlighted some of the School’s notable achievements in 2026, including its performance in the Financial Times Executive Education Rankings, where Lagos Business School was recognised as the leading provider of custom executive education in Africa for the second consecutive year.
The Director of Executive Education, Mr Victor Banjo, subsequently introduced the keynote speaker, Prince Abimbola Olashore, Founder and Director of LeadCapital PLC and a distinguished LBS alumnus.
Drawing on his experience as a graduate of the School’s Advanced Management Programme and his years of service within the alumni community, Prince Olashore reflected on a message that has long shaped the LBS experience: the call to “be an oasis in the desert.”
He described the graduation not merely as a celebration, but as a commissioning into greater responsibility.
“This moment is a commissioning,” he told the graduands. “You are being commissioned into a higher level of responsibility. You are in roles where your decisions will shape organisations, influence markets, and impact lives. The question, therefore, is whether you will be leaders who extract value or leaders who create lasting value.”
Delivering a keynote address titled Beyond Profit: Building Ethical Enterprises, Sustainable Systems and Enduring Legacies in Emerging Economies, Prince Olashore emphasised the growing importance of trust in an evolving global business landscape. He noted that as traditional frameworks and institutions continue to evolve, trust has become both the most valuable and the most fragile currency in business and leadership.
He challenged the executives to view their LBS experience not only as an opportunity to strengthen technical and managerial capabilities, but also as a platform for developing the character and values required to lead effectively in today’s world.
The ceremony culminated in the presentation of certificates to the graduands, followed by their formal admission into the Lagos Business School Alumni Association by the association’s president, Mr Valentine Okelu.
As they join a network of business leaders across industries and continents, the graduates leave LBS equipped not only with new knowledge and skills but also with a renewed commitment to ethical leadership, value creation, and positive societal impact.
