Olufunke Iroegbunam is a Senior Fellow in Finance at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University (LBS), with a strong professional grounding in accounting, corporate finance, and entrepreneurial finance. She holds an MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London, an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain, and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI).
Her work focuses on strengthening financial capability within organisations, particularly in emerging and entrepreneurial contexts. She is currently engaged in research on financial literacy for SME growth and sustainability, with an emphasis on improving the effectiveness of financial education programmes and stakeholder-led interventions. Her broader research interests include designing financing strategies that enable entrepreneurial ventures to scale sustainably.
At LBS, she teaches on the Modular MBA programme, where she leads sessions in Introduction to Financial Management and Entrepreneurial Finance. Her teaching approach is highly interactive and practice-oriented, combining case studies, lectures, group discussions, and simulation exercises to build participants’ analytical skills and financial decision-making capabilities. Through this approach, she equips managers and entrepreneurs with the tools to interpret financial information and apply it effectively in business contexts.
Beyond the classroom, her professional experience spans a wide range of sectors, including audit and accounting, banking and financial services, business development, information technology, manufacturing, and education. This breadth of experience informs her advisory and teaching work, enabling her to support organisations and entrepreneurs in strengthening financial practices, improving performance, and making sound investment and growth decisions.
