CASE ASSISTANT

Lagos Business School (LBS) seeks a detail-oriented and highly organised Case Assistant to join our Research Department. This role is integral to the development and publication of high-quality case studies that support LBS’s academic and research goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The Case Assistant should hold a first degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, or a related field and possess at least two years of experience in research, academic writing, publishing, or an administrative role in an academic setting. The ideal candidate must demonstrate intense research and analytical skills, the ability to synthesise complex information, and excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and familiarity with academic referencing styles (APA, MLA, Harvard, etc.) are required. Strong organisational and time management skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team are essential. Prior experience in academic publishing or content development is an added advantage.

DUTIES:

The Case Assistant will be key in supporting case development activities at Lagos Business School. The Case Assistant will ensure that cases are properly formatted before publication, maintain accurate records of LBS cases, and facilitate collaboration between faculty members and the Case Unit to enhance the quality and quantity of case studies. The successful candidate will also support the timely review and publication of cases in line with LBS case development processes. The Case Assistant will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the case review and publication process, supporting the execution of the Case Unit’s annual objectives, and providing administrative support for case development activities. The role will require strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with faculty members and research staff to meet publication deadlines.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the implementation of the Case Unit’s strategies and assist with other tasks assigned by the Case Director or Case Lead to support the School’s research objectives.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to prepare and present their vision, along with a five-year strategy for the School in line with the above duties, at a seminar attended by members of the University.
