LBS Welcomes SMP 62

The 62nd edition of the Senior Management Programme, SMP 62, commenced at the School yesterday Monday, October 10, 2016. The class comprises of 38 professionals from different sectors of the Nigerian economy including financial services, oil and gas, real estate, and ICT, coming from within and outside Lagos.

Participants were given a guided tour of the School’s facilities upon their arrival before settling in for the classroom sessions for the day.

Speaking at the welcome cocktail, participants expressed high expectations of the programme. Adeola Olaotan, Warehouse and Distribution manager, Honeywell Flour Mills hopes the programme will enable her improve her management skills “I want to draw from the wealth of experience from all participants, I hope to sharpen my management skills to make me a better manager, especially a manager of people” she said.

For Iyabo aremu, Head Contribution and Production, Pensions Alliance Limited she hopes the programme will improve her communication, managerial and strategic abilities. “At the end of the programme I want to be able to effectively communicate with my management team, I also hope to learn new skills and improve on my managerial and strategic ability” she said.

The SMP is an executive programme designed for functional managers, regional managers as well as unit heads with seven or more years cognate experience, and managing a team.  The main aim of the programme is to increase the effectiveness of executives and further enhance their strategic thinking capabilities.  The SMP builds the personal skills of participants in order to enable them achieve an immediate and measurable improvement in their contribution to their organisations. The programme is rounded off with a capstone project and class presentation which is aimed to showcase all the participants have learnt.
