Role Summary:
The Internal Security Officer (CCTV Monitoring & Analysis) is responsible for safeguarding the University’s people, assets, and facilities through the effective monitoring and operation of CCTV surveillance systems. The role involves identifying, assessing, and promptly escalating security incidents, supporting investigations through surveillance evidence management, maintaining accurate incident records, and ensuring compliance with the University’s security policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Qualification and Experience
The Internal Security Officer (CCTV Monitoring & Analysis) should possess excellent observation and analytical skills, sound judgement, integrity, and a high level of vigilance. The role requires strong report-writing abilities, basic computer proficiency, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining strict confidentiality. Candidates should possess a minimum of an SSCE or OND. A professional certification in Security Management, Security Operations, CCTV Operations, or a related discipline will be an added advantage. Candidates should also have at least three (3) years’ relevant experience in security operations, CCTV monitoring, surveillance, law enforcement, or a related security role. Experience in a higher education institution, corporate environment, or other regulated organisation is an added advantage.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems continuously to ensure effective coverage of designated areas.
- Detect, assess, and promptly escalate suspicious activities, security breaches, safety hazards, and unauthorised access.
- Observe security trends and proactively identify potential risks requiring intervention.
- Ensure uninterrupted surveillance operations throughout assigned shifts.
- Report security incidents promptly and maintain accurate incident logs and reports.
- Retrieve, review, and preserve CCTV footage to support investigations in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure CCTV equipment is fully operational and report equipment faults or technical issues promptly.
- Restrict access to the CCTV Control Room to authorised personnel only.
- Support emergency response activities, security drills, and special events.
- Collaborate with security personnel and relevant departments during security incidents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of surveillance footage, investigations, and security information.
- Ensure compliance with all University security policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned by Management.
