LBS Researcher Recognised at the 2026 Global PRME Education Awards

Dr Kelechi Chijindu Nnamdi, a postdoctoral researcher at the Lagos Business School Sustainability Centre, has been recognised as a runner‑up in the Research category at the 2026 Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Education Awards, a global initiative of the UN Global Compact.

His work, Impact of Home-Grown School Feeding Programme on Primary School Attendance and Literacy in Nigeria, was honoured for its contribution to research with real-world educational and societal impact. The project explores how school feeding programmes influence student attendance and literacy outcomes, with implications for policy and inclusive development.

The PRME Education Awards celebrate educators and researchers who are advancing sustainability and responsible management education across teaching, curriculum, and research. This year’s competition attracted 43 submissions from 22 countries, with entries evaluated on educational quality, impact, and contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr Nnamdi’s recognition highlights the growing importance of research that connects academic insight with tangible social outcomes. By focusing on access to education and learning outcomes in Nigeria, his work contributes to broader conversations on equity, human capital development, and sustainable growth.

Commenting on the awards, PRME Head Dr David Steingard noted the role of education in addressing global challenges: “This year’s awardees demonstrate how rigorous, thoughtfully designed education can meaningfully contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and better prepare students to navigate complex global challenges.”

Dr Nnamdi was recognised alongside leading scholars from institutions across Asia, Africa, North America, and Europe, underscoring the global reach and collaborative nature of responsible management education.

The awards were presented at the 2026 PRME Global Forum, where winning and shortlisted projects were shared as examples of best practice across the PRME network.
