Franca Ovadje is the founding director of the Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics of the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. She holds a PhD from the IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain. She leads sessions on Leadership, Organizational Change and People Management at the School.
Her publications include articles in local and international journals as well as book chapters in two published books. Her book titled Change Leadership in Developing Countries was published by Routledge in April 2014. Ovadje has presented research papers at several international conferences including the Academy of Management, European Academy of Management, British Academy of Management and the Eastern Academy of Management. She has also written several cases on Nigerian and Kenyan companies. She won the African Management Scholar Award in 2005.
Her research interests include: Leadership in the African context, Trust, Change Leadership, Talent Management.
Franca is a visiting faculty of the Strathmore Business School in Kenya where she leads sessions on the Executive Programmes. She has also taught short, focused programmes in South Africa and Ghana. Franca teaches on the Pan-African AMP organized by the IESE Business School, Barcelona Spain.
Franca has played a key role in the design and delivery of leadership development programmes for organizations in Nigeria and in Kenya. She was the first Director of both the Executive MBA and the MBA Programmes, as well as the Owner Manager Programme and the International Management Programme at the Lagos Business School. As Director, she led the team that designed the programmes. She is also an active consultant to industry having led consulting projects for organizations in the banking, insurance, oil & gas and beverage industries among others.
Franca Ovadje is a member of the African Academy of Management, the Academy of Management, European Academy of Management and the British Academy of Management.
