Participants resume Advanced Management Programme with high expectations

A new group of participants have resumed for the Advanced Management Programme (AMP 32) at Lagos Business School (LBS) that commenced on Monday, May 6, 2019. The 31 participants attending this year’s programme are direct reports to CEOs and Managing Directors of group subsidiaries from diverse industries including banking, real estate, oil and gas/energy, and hospitality.

The AMP’s unique value proposition is to help experienced senior executives build on their management and leadership skills as they advance in their career and shape the future of their organisation.

As participants settle into the LBS environment and immerse themselves in the learning and networking activities that characterise the programme, some of them share their expectations for the next five months:

Executive Director, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), Christopher Ezeafulukwe says “LBS has consistently stood out on the continent as a topmost business school that has impacted corporate Nigeria. At the end of the programme, I believe I will be properly equipped and positioned to play the role of a CEO in my organisation. One of the potential takeaways for me is to be apprised of contemporary developments in the corporate world globally, business disruptions and how businesses can thrive despite the disruption. The signs are clear that I will achieve these objectives and more.”

For Ndidi Ukaonu who is Divisional Head, Commercial Bank, South-South at Guaranty Trust Bank, LBS is at the forefront of executive education providers in Africa hence her decision to take its AMP. She said, “I came to this programme mostly open-minded but expecting high-level interaction and new perspectives on existing businesses and markets. I intend to take advantage of the network LBS provides by sharing ideas with peers in my industry and others to make an impact in my space”.

“I took the Senior Financial Analyst programme at LBS eight years ago, and it was highly impactful, so it is only right that I return for the AMP. I intend to build relationships, widen my mindset, and learn how to structure and position my organisation for the future”, said Ayoola Adeola, Deputy Managing Director, CardinalStone Registrars.

I expect to leave this programme as a better manager. I want to learn to apply new trends, increase my company’s profits, and use technology to its advantage. In the past few days in class, I have already taken significant lessons that I have passed on to my team at work, so I expect a lot more in the coming weeks”, said Uzo Oshogwe, MD/CEO, Afriland Properties.

The Advanced Management Programme is one of Lagos Business School’s flagship programmes and was launched in 1993.
