LBS faculty and strategy expert, Dr Chris Ogbechie, has achieved yet another milestone with his recent appointment as the new Chairman, Board of Directors, Diamond Bank Plc.
Diamond Bank is said to have notified the Nigerian Stock Exchange of his unanimous appointment by its Board and the retirement of his predecessor, Igwe Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, in a notice dated January 13, 2015.
Ogbechie, whose appointment is effective January 1, 2015, is a renowned strategist who teaches strategy and corporate governance at Lagos Business School. He consistently breaks new ground and is highly experienced in marketing and corporate governance, having worked as Head of Marketing and Sales at Nestle Nigeria and consulted for other reputable firms in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Asia and beyond.
The erudite Chairman, who has been involved with several start-ups and sits on the board of several reputable public and private firms, has a first-class honours degree in mechanical engineering from Manchester University, an MBA from Manchester Business School and a PhD in Business Administration from Brunel Business School in the UK.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing (NIM), the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and also a Member of the American Academy of Management, International Corporate Governance Network and Strategic Management Association, among others.
