LBS Announces New Addition to Strategy, Entrepreneurship and SPEB Faculty

Lagos Business School (LBS) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr Ijeoma Nwagwu to its faculty base.

Dr Ijeoma Nwagwu, joins the School’s Strategy, Entrepreneurship and SPEB (Socio-political Environment of Business) department. A talented researcher and lecturer, Nwagwu holds a PhD and LL.M from Harvard Law, and a B.L from NLS, Abuja. She was awarded the Landon H. Gammon prize for academic excellence. After attending the Nigerian Law School, Dr Nwagwu worked as a legal counsel for the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), where she also produced documentaries on law, human rights and development themes with Channels Television Lagos and the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA). She taught International Trade Law and Human Rights at St. Mary’s University College, London and was on the research team for the World Bank Assisted Science and Technology Education Post-Basic (STEP-B) project in Nigeria. She has also conducted research trainings for the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) in Senegal.
Dr Nwagwu is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. An active member of the community,

she volunteers on youth/education programmes and is passionate about finding creative solutions to education and development challenges in Africa. She also speaks and writes extensively on law and sustainable development, as well as governance and the private sector in emerging markets.

She currently manages the First Bank Sustainability Centre at Lagos Business School and serves on the advisory board of the Network for Business Sustainability, a collaborative of international academic experts and business leaders focused on sustainability issues. She is also on the board of Afro-tech girls, a non-profit organization that encourages girls to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers.
