Lagos Business School and Nestlé Nigeria collaborate for Sales Academy

Lagos Business School (LBS) is partnering with transnational food and beverage company, Nestle Nigeria to train its employees at a Sales Academy for sales and marketing professionals.

The Nestlé Sales Academy is in line with the company’s commitment to create an environment that allows people to learn, grow and thrive in each country where it operates.

At the training, which recently commenced at the Nestlé Nigeria office in Lagos, Professor of Strategy, LBS, Chris Ogbechie, and Academic Director, LBS Sales Academy, Dr Ogechi Adeola introduced the School’s values to Nestle employees. According to Prof Ogbechie “This is the first time we are entering into this kind of partnership with an organisation, and it is a partnership of like values as, Nestlé’s values of continuous excellence align with that of Lagos Business School.” He added that LBS and Nestlé are two powerful brands that have come together to develop a new initiative in Nigeria’s challenging business environment.

The Sales Academy will be delivered in three phases – the Sales College, Aspiring for Sales Leadership Diploma, and Leading in Sales Strategy through classroom sessions, activity-based learning, and a final capstone project.

Managing Director, Nestlé Nigeria, Mauricio Alarcon said the decision to partner with LBS was influenced by the School’s track record over the years. He said, “We had to choose the best business school, not only in Nigeria but the world to ensure our people get the best training possible. We are confident that this partnership with LBS will give each employee the opportunity to develop his or her potential to the maximum.”

According to Academic Director of the Academy, Dr Ogechi Adeola, Nestlé Nigeria’s Sales Academy aligns with LBS Sales Academy which was set up in November 2017 to address challenges in the Sales and Marketing industries by providing world-class practice-focused programmes with business experts and trainers through teaching, mentoring and experiential learning.

LBS continues to strive to create a significant impact on the professional and ethical standards of business management in Africa, and this partnership is one of the ways it achieves this objective.
