Digital Transformation Series: Shaping the New Nigerian Digital Economy
It is fascinating to see how technology has transformed the way we live and work in the last two decades. Before long, many mundane and repetitive tasks will be handled automatically by artificial intelligence (AI); freeing us to devote our time and energy to more productive and creative endeavours. More broadly, AI will enable humans to harness vast amounts of data and make breakthrough advances in areas like healthcare, agriculture, education and transportation. We are already seeing how AI-bolstered computing can help doctors reduce medical mistakes, farmers improve yields, teachers customise instruction and researchers unlock solutions to protect our planet.
A continuing collaboration between government, business, civil society and academic researchers will be essential to shaping the development and deployment of human-centred AI technologies. Ongoing dialogues between these stakeholders can help to identify and prioritise issues of societal importance as these technologies continue to evolve and enable further research and development of solutions, and as new issues emerge. However, as digital advances bring us daily benefits, they also raise a host of complex questions and broad concerns about how technology will affect society and the economy and where policy should foster the digital economy.
Lagos Business School in collaboration with Microsoft invites you to the inaugural Digital Transformation Series event to answer the central question: “How can the Nigerian government build a sustainable, inclusive and trustworthy digital future?”
Please join us and engage in candid conversations with policymakers, academics and subject matter experts for a day of insights, networking and learning.
