Franca Ovadje is the founder of the Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics of the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. She holds a PhD from the IESE Business School, University of Navarre, Spain. She leads sessions on Leadership, Organizational Change and People Management at the School.
Her publications include articles in local and international journals as well as book chapters in two books published by Routledge. Her book on Change Leadership in Developing Countries was published in April 2014. Ovadje has presented research papers at several international conferences including the Academy of Management, European Academy of Management, British Academy of Management and the Eastern Academy of Management. She has also written several cases studies on Nigerian and Kenyan companies. She won the African Management Scholar Award in 2007.
Her research interests include: Leadership in the African context, Trust, Change Leadership in the private and public sectors, Talent Management and Cross Cultural Studies.
Franca is a visiting Professor of the Strathmore Business School in Kenya where she leads sessions on the Executive Programmes. She has also taught on short focused programmes in South Africa and in Ghana. Franca teaches on the Pan-African AMP organized by the IESE Business School, Barcelona Spain.
Franca has played a key role in the design and delivery of leadership development programmes for organizations in Nigeria and in Kenya. She was the first Director of the Executive MBA and the MBA Programmes, as well as the Owner Manager Programme and the International Management Programme at the Lagos Business School. As Director, she led the team that designed the Programmes. She is also an active consultant to industry haven led consulting projects for organizations in banking, insurance, oil & gas and brewery industries among others.
Franca Ovadje is a member of the African Academy of Management and the Academy of Management. She is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Cross-cultural Studies. She is currently editing a handbook on change for Routledge Publishers, UK.
