Strategic Compensation Management

Overview:
In recent times, there has been a phenomenal increase in firms’ compensation costs, with compensation arguably one of the worst-managed elements in organisations’ cost structure. Given that remuneration costs are by far the largest single operating cost in many organisations, typically ranging from 20 - 60 per cent of total operating expenses, discerning corporate boards and managers are increasingly scrutinizing their compensation budgets to ensure an efficient allocation of scarce financial resources.

Yet, in order to build effective organisations, compensation must be highly competitive to attract, retain and motivate talented people. For compensation and HR professionals, therefore, there is a need to maintain a delicate balance to suit these competing interests and objectives.

This seminar offers knowledge on how to develop and implement a performance and compensation architecture to support organisations’ strategic goals of delivering better business results, heightened employee motivation and higher talent retention levels.

For:

  • HR business partners, HR generalists and non-compensation professionals seeking a deeper understanding of compensation management.
  • Compensation practitioners new to the profession who wish to gain a broader knowledge of compensation.

Programme:

  • Designing a base pay structure
  • Developing and implementing a variable pay plan
  • Conducting a competitive pay analysis
  • Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of compensation plans
  • Benchmarking compensation and rewards programme

Date:   24-25 May 2010
