OMOREGIE Kayode

Kayode Omoregie is an upper second-class honours graduate of chemistry of the University of Lagos and a Fellow (FCA), of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He earned his MBA from Lagos Business School (2003) graduating at the top of his class. He is also a chartered tax practitioner with nearly two decades experience in assurance, tax, corporate finance strategy and performance management.

He has nearly two decades experience in consulting and practice in senior management and board level positions, across various industries such as oil and gas, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing and professional services. His work experience includes six years with Arthur Andersen, Nigeria (now KPMG Professional Services), where he left as an experienced senior consultant in assurance and business advisory, and two years as the controller of Kiwi Nigeria Limited (a Multinational/ Sara Lee Chicago Company). He was also at one time the finance director and chief finance officer for Chartered Aluminum Systems (Nigeria) Plc.

In 2004, Kayode co-founded Resource Edge Limited, a strategy and performance management consultancy specialising in strategy, financial advisory, performance management and human capital development. In 2006 and in addition to his senior consultant’s position at Resource Edge, Kayode founded Osaretin Omoregie & Co (OO & Co), a chartered accountancy and tax practice providing assurance, tax and business advisory services to a number of mid-market and emerging businesses.

He has consulted extensively to a wide range of businesses across various sectors in his core areas of corporate finance, restructuring, valuation, strategy and performance management. 

He served at some point on the board of the Public Practice Section (PPS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and has presented technical papers at training seminars of the institute. He serves on the advisory board / trustee of a number of companies and not-for-profit organisations, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Laplace Technologies Limited, a Technology service provider to Hauwei International and the Big 5 Nigerian Telcos.

Kayode is an associate of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Associations of Nigeria (BRIPAN), and has presented professional papers at the member’s induction training and professional development seminars of BRIPAN in the areas of business restructuring, corporate finance and business valuations, areas in which he actively consults. He was recently appointed to the committee on Publications and Public Relations of BRIPAN.

He has been a regular resource person at Lagos Business School in the past seven years, where he has been involved in teaching finance, strategy and accounting on all the School’s programmes. He is also a resource person for the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) of Pan-African University. He is a designated Expert-In-Residence with the EDC where he mentors and provides expert advice to businesses across various sectors.

Kayode took an indefinite sabbatical from his role as Partner in OO & Co to pursue full-time teaching and research work in corporate finance and financial strategy at LBS, as a fellow. His research interest includes, value creation / destruction and appropriation through restructuring, venture capital and private equity aggregation, flows and business development impact in Nigeria. He is presently enrolled on the doctoral programme (DBA) of the SMC University, Switzerland.
