Why did you enrol for an Executive MBA?
The Executive MBA transformed me as a person. I
came from a technical background having worked
as an electronics engineer for over 13 years.
Even though I worked in what you may call one of
the best companies in the world – Schlumberger –
I still felt there was just that link that was
missing in my career. I think it was connecting
to the business side of an organisation.

What
did you find most rewarding?
One thing I learnt from the Executive MBA class is
that there is strength in diversity.
In class you would come across people from
different backgrounds, different philosophies of
life, different ideologies. One of my
challenges managing a company before going into
business school was that I thought people in the
technical line were more superior beings to
those in admin or finance, but as the programme
progressed, I began to appreciate the input of
every single person within the company.

Why did you choose LBS?
I had reached a stage in my career where I
wanted something else, but I didn’t want to
leave my job to study abroad. I also knew that
Nigeria was at a stage where opportunities were
opening up for those living abroad to come back.
I had seen the effect of the Executive MBA on
other people who had passed through LBS, and
sometimes they were as good if not better than
those who took time off to go abroad.
